HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
The course is aimed to current the complete area of
the human resource management field. Emphasis is placed in the areas of
staffing, training and developing human potential, compensation,
benefits, and performance management. The legal framework for equal
employment opportunity is covered along with affirmative action. Human
Resource Information Services (HRIS) will be introduced.
Upon completion of the course, the student will:

Explain the five basic equal employment opportunity concepts.

Describe how organizations enhance performance.

Demonstrate basic interviewing skills.

Describe the staffing process.

Explain the importance of training and development of all levels of
employees.

Explain the pay systems, benefits, and factors affecting equitable
compensation.

Demonstrate use of the human resource information system (HRIS).

Describe the various training methods used in business
communications and counseling processes used to maintain employees'
attitudes.

Explain how labor/management relations affect the workplace.

Define health, safety and security in relation to the workplace.
Learning Methodology:
The learning methodologies employed in this course
are a combination of Lecture and Labs, combination of Lecture, Hands-on
activities, and Group Discussions. In order to successfully complete
this course, students must also possess basic computer skills, the
ability to follow written directions, and be able to read for
comprehension.
